SONGWRITER SHOWCASE INFORMATION:
- Each performer will have 10 minutes to play two original songs. At the end of the night, a panel of judges with a music industry background, will select three finalists to perform one more song. The judges will select one winner.
- Performers are judged in five different areas: songwriting, vocal performance, playing ability, stage presence, and audience response.
- There are no more than 3 players allowed on stage. No effects (looping, pedals, amps, etc.) are allowed. No drum kits are allowed, but hand held percussion is okay. Original songs ONLY.
- The winner from each showcase will be invited to participate in the Songwriter Showdown at the end of the quarter, and ONE LUCKY SONGWRITER will receive an AWARD and a PRIZE (date to be announced). The objective is to showcase local songwriters- the competition aspect is just for fun.
- ALL songwriters/ ALL genres are encouraged to participate! This is an all ages show. Please choose your songs accordingly.
- Performers can only sign up for one showcase a quarter (May 22nd, June 26th, or July 24th).
- In the event of rain or weather related issues, the showcase will be held next door at Cecil T's.
